What fun we have had going on aeroplane adventures at the beginning of this week. We have transformed our role play area to include a plane, pilots cockpit, travel information desk and check in area. The children have explored non-fiction books and travel magazines to choose their destination, made their own passports and filled in tickets in order to travel all over the world. We have briefly learned about different countries that we could visit, where we may have gone on holiday before and appropriate things to pack. The children were really engaged in how the aeroplanes fly so we watched an information video about the control panels, how they work and the speed of planes. In maths this week, we have been building on our earlier work on matching to find and make pairs. We found collections of items which come in pairs within our classroom. We progressed to combining two groups to find how many altogether. We used dominoes, five frames and duplo for combining groups. In our SAINTS PE, the children have been focusing on their core stability and balance. They have been learning how to perform a forward roll safely. The large equipment, benches and cones were used to create an obstacle course circuit for children to build their confidence and challenge themselves safely. Comments are closed.
