Oak Class have had another fun week of learning. In maths the children have enjoyed role-playing the story Mr Gumpy’s Outing as they solved problems and explained their reasoning. We solved questions such as ‘how many legs are in the boat?’ and ‘how much space is left?’. The children have collected data using tally charts on clipboards. They have recorded favourite colours, fruits and sea creatures and used their data to work out which choice was the most or least popular. In RE this week the children learnt about the Jewish festival Hanukkah. We listened to the story of Hanukkah and enjoyed learning how the festival is celebrated. Some of the children were so curious that they produced their own menorah pictures. Thursday was transition morning and Oak Class moved up to Chestnut Class for the morning to meet their new teacher and become familiar with their new classroom. The children were very excited and had lots to discuss when they returned to Oak Class. The children drew pictures and wrote about their favourite moments and were keen to share these during a class discussion. On Friday we enjoyed practicing sprint races, hurdle jumping and sack racing. In our Saints PE we took part in collaborative team games such as jellybeans, mirror mirror and relay races. Oak Class are becoming great at celebrating the winning team and managing their feelings if they lose. Comments are closed.
