Week beginning 21st November 2022

This week we have enjoyed rehearsing for the Nativity. The children are quickly learning the lyrics and are enjoying singing along. We used the hall and practised walking on and off the stage during rehearsals.

In maths this week, the children have been representing numbers to 5 with a focus on one more and less. We have been working hard to explain our reasoning of how we got our answer. There has been lots of songs, sorting and role-play themed around our maths focus.

Oaks class have been applying their phonics knowledge this week and have been reading the newspaper! We were using highlighter pens to highlight the words and letter sounds that we could read and recognise. This was a very popular activity and something that you might find enjoyable to do at home.

In RE, we have continued to explore why Christmas is important to Christians. We told and acted out the nativity story and explored the importance of the characters from the story. We made links between the nativity, Christmas carols and songs from our Christmas performance.
