What an exciting week we have had in Oak Class. Our butterflies have begun to emerge from their chrysalides, so we have been able to talk about what we have observed. The children enjoyed pretending to be on the news this week, reporting about the metamorphosis that has taken place in the classroom. Our maths focus this week has been subtraction. The children have used real objects to see that the quantity of a group can be changed by taking away. We have focused on counting on when finding our answers. The children have explored representing their findings on 10 frames, number tracks and their fingers. We have enjoyed the physical challenge of using large gardening tools to prepare the earth for wildflower seeds. The children worked together to scatter their seeds around our wildlife area to attract butterflies, bees and other pollinators in the future. Comments are closed.
