This week we have enjoyed exploring and making the most of our outdoor area. The children have made clay nature prints using a variety of natural objects. There has been pirate play, ships and planks and a lot of collaborative play. Our role-play area has been transformed into a beach café which has sparked imagination and conversation about the children’s own experiences. We have designed menus, written orders and introduced money into our role-play. In maths our learning theme has focus has been around spatial reasoning. We have enjoyed opportunities to replicate construction models as well as use positional language. The children particularly enjoyed taking their maths outdoors and providing their friends with a positional instruction. We had children on top of logs, between trees and behind stumps! On Friday we have had a wonderful time celebrating differences for Rainbow Day. The children wore rainbow clothing, took part in rainbow themed crafts, maths and the whole class produced an enormous handprinted rainbow. We had discussions around our likes, dislikes, and our talents. The children were respectful of each other and were able to ask each other questions. Comments are closed.
