We have enjoyed being imaginative this week with cardboard box play, den building and café role-play. The children are captivated by our ready, steady, go theme and have enjoyed discussions about holidays and travel. We talked about what makes a healthy lunch and the children made healthy lunches by cutting, sticking and categorising lunch items. In maths this week, the children have been creating patterns of doubles on tens frames and learning how to share a quantity of objects into to equal groups. We have used practical objects such as numicon, counters and pegs to notice patterns and talk about odd and even numbers. On Thursday, we were joined by a couple of very helpful Year 3 children who listened to Oak Class read and together they spoke about the stories, characters and plot. We ended our week with a nugget treat. Oak Class voted for a pyjama party which was full of music, games and dance. Well done, Oak Class. Comments are closed.
