This week Oak Class have been on safari in Africa. We have watched different videos, completed 'wild work outs' and themed yoga sessions and also had plenty of time for crafts and art, for our expressive arts and design element of our curriculum.
Have a look at some of the learning our children have been completing this week. It has been great to see the children enjoying the Spring sunshine during their daily exercise too. The children have been writing captions, labels and sentences about photos of African animals and game safaris. Their use of Fred talk to help them segment words into sounds has been fantastic and I am so proud of the time and effort they have put in to this. In Maths, we have deepened our learning and understanding of numbers up to 10, combining two numbers to make a total and comparing quantities. This week we have been looking at the sounds 'ar', like in card, and 'or', like in fork. This has been a challenge but the children have engaged well and I am so pleased with how they are learning to correct themselves with their reading. Take care and keep up the fantastic work. :) Mrs Nuthall Comments are closed.
