This week we have been learning all about Dinosaurs in Oak Class. On Monday, the children made story boards using photos and captions to tell the story of Stan (a dinosaur at Manchester Museum). The took Stan on an adventure around their homes and gardens - have a look at some of the great final pieces they have produced.
During our Zoom sessions, we have explored a Non-fiction book about Dinosaurs together using screen share. This has been a great opportunity for some of our little Dinosaur experts to share their knowledge with peers... and to correct my pronunciation of their names! This week we have been looking at the sounds 'oo', like in Zoo, and 'oo', like in book. This has been tricky but the children have engaged well and I am so pleased with how they are learning to correct themselves with their reading. Writing this week has been incredible - the children have used their Fred talk and word banks to write fantastic sentences about Dinosaurs. The children have watched videos and created their own dinosaurs with Latin names, using the key characteristics to match them to their drawing. The have been labelling pictures too. We have had a very busy half-term full of fun and learning. Enjoy the half-term break and don't forget to look out for Mr Foreman's challenge on Dojo. Take care, Mrs Nuthall :) Comments are closed.
