This week, Oak Class took part in Children’s Mental Health Week. This year’s theme was express yourself and we encouraged children (and adults) to explore the different ways we can express ourselves, and the creative ways that we can share our feelings, our thoughts and our ideas. When we express ourselves we don’t have to be a great artist or a wonderful dancer. It’s not about being the very best at something or putting on a performance. Let’s encourage each other to find lots of different ways to get creative and express ourselves. The children explored resources suggested by Place2Be alongside this week's home learning. On Friday, we all 'dressed to express ourselves' wearing our favourite clothes, colours and things that made us feel happy, like dressing up clothes and even face paint too. Have a look at this calendar that we have introduced to the class.... it is full of lovely ideas for a friendly February - just what we need in this strange time.
In our home learning this week, we have introduced new graphemes 'ow' and 'igh' - the children have learnt these well and have even demonstrated them in their rainforest themed writing. The children have engaged fully in our Rainforest topic, completing arts and crafts, writing, rainforest layers and models. Overall, you are all doing amazingly well in these strange circumstances, but if you are struggling in any way please let us know. I am looking forward to seeing lots of photos this week. Keep in touch and please do continue to message if you need any help or guidance. Take care, Mrs Nuthall Comments are closed.
