This week we ventured to Asia. We learnt about the different animals in Asia and special characteristics that they have living in the climate and habitat, before sorting a selection of animals into different groups. We practised our cutting skills making paper lanterns, like those at Chinese new year.
Within our continuous provision, we carefully selected pompoms using chopsticks to enhance our fine motor development, explored an Asia themed tuff tray with different Asian animals and looked at Rangoli and Mandala patterns, before making our own using different pasta shapes and pulses. During our PE sessions we have had a great time, learning the skills required in a circus to walk on an imaginary tightrope and also practising our sports day skills, including egg and spoon races, sack races, running and hurdles. I wonder which continent we will visit next week? On a final note, your views are important to us.
