It has been fantastic welcoming Oak Class back into the classroom this week. The children have coped so well with the transition back to school and have been eager to learn and play with their peers. The children have returned to school with Miss Prince as their class teacher, with Mrs Nuthall working and supporting from home, prior to starting maternity leave in three weeks time.
This week, we have started our two week topic of 'Traditional Tales', looking at the stories of Goldilocks and The Three Bears, The Three Billy Goats Gruff, The Three Little Pigs, and Jack and The Beanstalk. The children have been acting out the story, taking on roles, ordering events and creating story boards. In phonics, we have been revisiting our Set 1 RWI sounds. The children have played games and practised reading and writing with their sound knowledge. For our Maths learning this week, we have been continuing to explore number bonds to 10, using the part whole model. The children have enjoyed taking their maths outside this week, playing skittles with 10, writing number sentences for their scores and exploring their numbers more. It was great to welcome back our Saints PE coach for our weekly multi-skills session and to continue our fantastic Music lessons with Mrs Mathews. Well done for approaching the return to school with such positivity, fun and eagerness to learn. Have a lovely weekend. :) Comments are closed.
