We have had an ‘egg’citing week full of Easter celebrations. The children have shared their knowledge about Shrove Tuesday, Lent, Palm Sunday and Easter Sunday from their RE learning this term. There have been discussions around the many ways that Christians and some of us celebrate at Easter time. We have enjoyed decorating and racing eggs, weaving nature and signs of Spring into our outdoor egg pictures, and we’ve enjoyed cooking and creating Easter nests. In the continuous provision, the children have written recipes, recounts of their hot cross bun tasting as well as writing Easter cards for family and friends. It is wonderful to observe as the children see themselves as independent writers. This week in maths, we have been consolidating number bonds to 10. The children have practiced recording number bonds using addition symbols, tallies and part-part-whole models. We have used practical objects to support our working out such as coloured keys, duplo and counters. We have also used songs for addition and subtraction problems such as ten green bottles. We hope you have a great Easter break. Mrs MacDonald and Mrs Nuthall. Comments are closed.
