Weekly Blog 21.6.24

I can’t believe how quickly this half term seems to be flying by! We have had another busy week with writing stories and rehearsing our pantomime.
In English this week we have been writing our own stories about our own lost thing. The children have written some excellent stories and have been able to use lots of interesting and powerful adjectives. We have also published our stories by typing them up and have been busy designing their own front cover for their story.
In maths this week we have finished our decimals unit by looking at dividing by 10, 100, and 1000 and have been solving problems using these skills. Today we have started our new short unit on understanding negative numbers.
On Tuesday, we had PE with Mrs Jordan where we practiced lots of athletic events ready for sports day on 2nd July. On Wednesday we were also lucky enough to take part in quad kids where the children had a sprint race, practicing jumping and throwing. See some pictures below.
We have been very busy continuing with our rehearsal for our panto. It has been lovely to see the progress we have made so far. Please ensure children have learnt their lines as we don’t want to rely on scripts. Please also make sure their costume is in school by next Thursday. Tickets will be on sale very soon!
