Happy Friday!
This week has been a week of Exploration vehicles, fractions and time and rehearsals! This week, we have worked on designing our own exploration vehicles based on the Mars Rover, we will be writing about these and hopefully recreating them in DT after half term. We have also been working hard on our unit on Fractions, multiplying mixed numbers by integers and the year 4s have been working on their time skills. On Wednesday, Miss Brooking explored Music, French and Computing this week. The children went on to perform fantastically in the poetry recital in the afternoon. Finally, P.E has seen us developing our Rounders skills, we have worked on putting all of the skills that we have been learning into practise this week, through small team game situations. P.E. will continue to be on Tuesday and Friday after half term, so please send the children in with their kits on on Tuesdays and Fridays. Finally, the children's home learning is evolving. Reading is very much forefront of our minds and it has been brilliant to see how many children read regularly at home. the children will receive 5 learning points for an entire week of non-stop reading so please ensure that you fill in those Reading Records. We now have access to the platforms Maths.co.uk and Spag.com. This week's home learning will be on these platforms, alongside the spelling and the reading. The children have their usernames and passwords for these in their Reading Records, if you have any issues around these, please contact me via Dojo to clarify. I have posted new activities on these platforms for the children to work on. I have also challenged them to go green on their TTRS heatmaps. To do this, they need to answer all questions up to 12 x 12 in 4 seconds or under. Time for lightning fingers! One final plea, the children have their scripts for the play 'A Hint of Snow White,' please can you help the children to practise their lines, actions, facial expressions and body language, ready for a busy rehearsal schedule when we return after half term - thank you. My apologies on behalf of my i-pad this week, for the lack of photographs, it is experiencing a few technical issues, there are a few photos of activities from this week on Class Dojo instead. Have a great half-term everybody - see you on Monday 2nd June! Jason Foreman Comments are closed.
