Happy Friday!
This week has been a week of Elizabethans, improper fractions and Assessments! This week, we have been working on our English text The Day the Crayons Quit. We have read the text and written in role, using the figurative language technique of personification to enhance our writing. We have also been working hard on our unit on Fractions, exploring proper and improper fractions, mixed numbers and fractions greater than one. Miss Brooking has explored Music, French and we had our third Mini-Police session with PC Matt Young, the children talked about Anti-Social Behaviour this week and will explore a different issue next week. On Thursday, we explored our final session for our Medieval Monarchs unit - The Elizabethans. The children have been exploring why the Elizabethan Era was called the Golden Age, what the Spanish Armada was and how the first theatre in England was created. Finally, P.E has seen us developing our Tag Rugby and Handball skills, we have worked on passing and intercepting this week, as well as moving into space and intercepting. Next week, sees us continuing our writing unit - The Day the Crayons Quit. We will continue our unit on Fractions in Maths, start work on our new Geography unit and work on our Tag rugby and Handball skills in P.E. P.E. will be on Tuesday and Friday for this half term, so please send the children in with their kits on on Tuesdays and Fridays. Finally, the children's home learning will be evolving this half term. Reading is very much forefront of our minds and it has been brilliant to see how many children read regularly at home. the children will receive 5 learning points for an entire week of non-stop reading so please ensure that you fill in those Reading Records. We now have access to the platforms Maths.co.uk and Spag.com. This week's home learning will be on these platforms, alongside the spelling and the reading. The children have their usernames and passwords for these in their Reading Records, if you have any issues around these, please contact me via Dojo to clarify. Have a great weekend everybody, try and enjoy a good book together! See you on Monday. Jason Foreman Comments are closed.
