On Thursday, the year 5s really enjoyed their final swimming session, whilst the year 4s worked on their times table with Miss Penny. Finally, the children's home learning will be evolving this half term. Reading is very much forefront of our minds and it has been brilliant to see how many children read regularly at home. the children will receive 5 learning points for an entire week of non-stop reading so please ensure that you fill in those Reading Records. We now have access to the platforms Maths.co.uk and Spag.com. We will become familiar with these at school over the next few weeks and then these will begin to be the source of some of our home learning They will revert back to their homework book, spellings and Maths questions next on Monday. Have a great weekend everybody, enjoy the Sun. See you on Monday. Jason Foreman Happy Friday!

This week has been a week of Mythical beasts, mental health and building bridges. This week, was Children's Mental Health Week. On Monday, we explored what mental health is, both good and bad. and our PSHE session on Friday with Miss Penny, when we explored how we can have an impact on other people's mental health, in both positive and negative ways. We have been working on our English text Granny Came Here on the Windrush. We have begun our final write, which is a piece of information based on the Windrush Generation. Maths has seen us working on dividing 4 digit numbers by 1 digit numbers and looking at what a remainder is. In Book Club, we have been studying The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe by C.S.Lewis. Here is an example piece: Mr Tumnus. Nice but manipulative, Mr Tumnus is a faun who lives under the control of the White Witch. He was given the job of bringing all sons of Adam and daughters of Eve (humans) back to her. He resides in a small cottage nestled in the woods. Tumnus has the reddish upper-body of a man but the legs of a goat. He can often be seen wearing a fluffy, red scarf and carrying a snow capped umbrella. Miss Brooking has explored Music, Repeating patterns in Computing, French and Bridge building in DT. On Thursday, the year 5s really enjoyed their fourth swimming session, whilst the year 4s worked on the seven times table with Miss Penny. Finally, P.E has seen us developing our Hockey skills, we have worked on passing and intercepting this week. Finally, the children will come home with their homework books on Monday. In these there are spellings for this week, Maths questions based on what we have been doing in class and a topic homework with a choice of activities. Please could the book come back in on Thursday next week for marking and so that the children can add next week's home learning. Topic home learning is due in next Thursday (13th February).
