WHAT AND WHO ARE FONTS?
Most schools have a Parent Teacher Association (PTA), which is an organisation of parents and staff. Its role is to encourage closer links between home and school. PTAs are best known for their fundraising work, but they have a useful social function too. Fundraising events provide an opportunity for parents, staff and pupils to get together. Here at North Tawton Community School we like to call ourselves FONTS (Friends Of North Tawton School).
It doesn't take up much of your time, but the Parent Teacher Association plays a very important part in the school. Shrinking budgets. Increasing class sizes. Government mandates. The challenges of delivering quality education are daunting, but we're here to help. But what are we and who are we?
We are a group of dedicated parents providing resources and programs to all families and to raise much needed funds for our children. FONTS Benefits Everyone. FONTS addresses issues that are important to parents and the school and we help the school to thrive.
