We have had a very busy last week of term. The children worked incredibly hard on learning their poem ‘The Little Seed’ and did a marvellous job during our poetry recital. It was so lovely to see the children stand in front of their peers across the school and all their grownups and confidently read out their poem. Well done Chestnut Class!
We have started looking at fractions this week, including find a half and quarter of shapes and objects and Reception have been exploring sharing in equal groups. Year 1 have read to the end of their story where the eggs have finally hatched! The children have written congratulations cards using exclamations and learnt how to write a review of the story for someone who is wanting to read The Odd Egg. Reception created some beautiful big hotel pictures, drawing and labelling all the creatures that they might see in a big hotel. We finished our habitats unit this week by looking at the rainforest habitat. The children have learnt about the 4 layers of the rainforests and the different species that could live there. In Geography, we have looked at the importance of the ocean and ways it can benefit the world. We enjoyed some sunny weather in forest school alongside acorn class and in our blue area. We also had an exciting visit where the children got to sample lots of different and new fruit or vegetables. This was a lovely addition to our being healthy topic in PSHE were we have talked about what being healthy means and looking at a balanced diet. On Tuesday, the children created lunches that had to consider of all the different food groups. Have a lovely restful half term! Miss Warwick and the Team Comments are closed.
