We have had a busy week in Chestnut Class this week, looking at habitats across the week. Reception have used the small world animals and tuff trays to create the desert, oceans and mini beast garden. We have looked at the 5 oceans of the world and all the creatures, animals and living things that live there.
We are keeping a close eye on our bean’s that were planted last week and making sure we are looking after them the correct way. We are hoping to see some changes to them next week, fingers crossed! Reception have drawn the castle for the giant from the story Jack and Beanstalk, complete with swimming pools, unicorn guards and robots! They have also been working on their handwriting, labelling mini beast pictures and throughout drawing club and phonics. Year 1 have written their campaigns for looking after the River Taw. They have listed some important facts as well as using command words to write sentences informing everyone how they can look after our local rivers. We are hoping to show off all our hard work in assembly next Tuesday for the rest of the school. In maths, year 1 have started multiplication and division beginning with counting in 2s, 10s, 5s, and recognising equal groups. While reception have worked hard with Abbie on their number bonds and number addition. In RE we looked at what makes a positive world changer and what qualities they would need. The children created a drawing of a person they thought could make a difference to our world, labelling why and we got creative in music, using body percussion and movement to follow the story of Jack and the Beanstalk. We have enjoyed the sunshine this week as much as we can while staying safe. Please make sure your child comes to school with a water bottle, sunhat and suncream, all named. Have lovely weekend and enjoy the warm weather! Miss Warwick and Team Comments are closed.
