**Year One Class Blog – Weekly Round-Up**
What a fantastic week we’ve had in Year One! Let’s dive into what we’ve been learning. 🌟 **Star Learner of the Week** A huge congratulations to Brooke, our star learner this week! She has shown amazing effort in all her work, especially during Literacy and Maths. Well done, Brooke! 📚 **Literacy** In Literacy, we have begun to plan for an exciting project. We're going to make leaflets based on our class book *Here We Are* by Oliver Jeffers. The children have come up with some wonderful ideas, and we can’t wait to see their creativity shine through! ➗ **Maths** In Maths, we have been working on place value to 20 and beyond. The children have been super focused as we explore numbers, their values, and how they fit together. Keep practising at home, too! 🤸♂️ **PE** This week in PE, we had some fantastic gym lessons with the Saints coaches. The children learned new gymnastic skills, and everyone had lots of fun jumping, balancing, and tumbling their way through the lessons. 💻 **Computing** In Computing, we explored the different types of technology around us in the classroom. The children were excited to point out all the gadgets and devices they see every day! 👑 **History** In History, we’ve been learning about famous people, and this week we focused on George Stephenson, the "Father of Railways." The children loved hearing about his incredible contributions to transportation. 🙏 **Thank You to Our Parents** A big thank you to all the parents who attended the information evening on Wednesday. We really appreciate your time and support, and we hope you found the session helpful. We’ve had a busy and wonderful week, and we’re excited for the learning adventures ahead. Have a lovely weekend!
